SELF HEALING

Whenever we are discouraged, disappointed, we always get the suggestion from our friends, colleagues that don’t seek motivation from outside, learn to motivate yourself. I truly believe in this we should not wait for someone to motivate ourselves, but how to motivate?? What should I do to motivate my self????

If one says that it is possible to change ones behavior pattern in a constructive manner, it does not automatically reflect how to change that. As for myself, I especially enjoy the articles on psyche. I got the answers for my question from one of the article written by Dr JITENDRA SINGH RAI. I would like to share some of the important points with you.

1) PRACTICE THOUGHT CONTROL: When you catch yourself starting a thought that will produce a stressful emotion like worry, anxiety, fear, apprehension, discouragement or the like, stop it & substitute thinking that brings on a healthy emotion like equanimity, resignation, courage, determination & cheerfulness.

2) Run these flags up on your “master head” & keep them flying:

· Equanimity – “Lets stay calm”

· Resignation – “Lets accept this setback gracefully”

· Courage – “I can take all these & more”

· Determination – “I’ll Turn This Defeat Into Victory”

· Cheerfulness – “See, I’m coming up”

· Pleasantness – “I’ll still have goodwill towards people “

3) Carry the key idea every minute of the day – “I am going to keep my attitude & thinking calm & cheerful – RIGHT NOW.

4) When the going is good, tell yourself life is good & allow your self the delightful feeling of being happy.

5) When the going is rough stay outwardly as cheerful & as pleasant as you possibly can. Lighten an awkward situation with a bit of humor, with kindness, or a bit of smile.

6) TRY TO TURN EVERY DEFEAT INTO A MORAL VICTORY.

The aforesaid ideas can help to bring about emotional status & maturity. I believe ENHANCING ONES EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAN THE INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT.

Once one learns the art of walking along eyes calm with equanimity, head up with determination, chest out with courage, and a pleasant word for fellow travelers & resignation on meeting rough rocky roads, LIFE WILL BECOME A FASCINATING ENTERPRISE.

It does not merely say that change is possible, but has consistently shown how change may be achieved. I know we feel very motivated after reading such type of articles, but again once we are surrounded by the tensed situation, we forget everything & find no ways to come out of that situation. That is why we need to remember these things again & again.

I would really appreciate, if you have anymore points to be added in this.....

"LOCUS OF CONTROL" , WHAT IS IT ??

let me share a very interesting aspect of our personality which we often exhibit in many given situation at any given point.
This Phenomenon is called " Locus of control". This term is reiterated in management books to explain personality type

Locus of Control(LOC) was a term coined by Julian Rotter in 1960s.
LOC refers to individual's perception of main causes of events in life that one attribute to themselves or to destiny.

Very often most of us blame situation or other external forces ( luck , people etc) for our behavior , outcomes, failures etc. This kind of response is called External Locus of Control.
People with External LOC tend to be negative in Life. And Keep blaming one's fate for failures.

People who assume themselves responsible for outcomes failures, success etc are with Internal LOC. These people are high on self efficacy. Are more success-full compared to people with external LOC.

So next time you judge a situation or yourself or others consider these aspect. May be it will help you take better decisions...................

"Held your self responsible. Control a situation or else it will control you"

So you can inculcate internal or external LOC depending upon your preference in life....

Living for Others

At least for once I believe many of us would have definitely thought that, they are living life just for people in their life. To a large extent decisions which we take in our life are taken considering the impact of decision on them, these people could be our friend, family member’s or even people in our professional world.

How far we can be practical or diplomatic in our Life ?

Many a times it’s not possible to take a practical decision because of our relation with them. Living for others is not very easy because your kind gesture may or may not be acknowledged as you have thought. A lot of time I wonder how far one can give unconditional love, care and affection to someone ?

Me being very sensitive and practical person major decisions taken by me are taken keeping people in my life.
One can definitely live the life the way he/she wants but it should not hurt emotions of loved ones in their life, I know friends, it’s not possible every time to keep every one happy……….but at least we can Try .

Dual-Career Couples

Friends the term itself is self explaining where, two partners in relationship are pursuing careers. It’s the need of an hour for both the partners to earn for surviving factor and better future prospects.

Entry of more and more woman’s in work place has raised this concept in various organizations. Life is not so easy and pleasant as it seems initially to both of them. For example both partners working face problems of coordinating like buying household things, planning vacations, who will stay at home with sick child and what, will happen if one partner is transferred to another city.

But now day’s many organizations are becoming sensitive to the needs and problems faced by Dual-Career couples. General Motor’s provide counseling and referral services for spouse of a transferred employee. IBM provides childcare assistance and provides all employees with up to a year of unpaid leave for childcare at home and delayed transfers. Merck provides childcare, flexible working hours, work-at-home options to Dual-Career couples.

Still all organizations wont be able provide them Work Life Programs to their employees for various other reasons.
Friend’s please share any such career assistance given by various other companies to their employees.

CAFE-AT-SRC: Circle of Influence & Circal of Concern

CAFE-AT-SRC: Circle of Influence & Circal of Concern

Circle of Influence & Circal of Concern

Hi friends

I would like to share something with you guys , recently there have a been a very good and practical formula which we all partners shared and started using in order to reduce our regular day to day or work related problems or even the bigger worries. This is called Theory of Circles. For your better understanding i have a image of same here.

You must have come across many problems in life , when you are in that hyper tension we start thinking about the implications of problems. This does a multiplier effects on your problem. This give us hyper tension , fear , insecurity and many other negative environment.

In this theory the problem , Fear and Insecurity are indicated by circle of concern , i.e the external circle and the Internal circle is called the Circle of Influence. The Circle of Influence is the circle of solution.

Because the problem when it comes is always bigger then the solution.

Both of these circles have the feature of growing , more you think about Circle of concern it will become bigger and bigger keeping the other circle in same position , in the same way more you think about circle of influence it will become bigger.

In the situation of problems, we need to focus on the solution , do not think much about the problem. so if we think and focus more on the solution your circle of influence will start growing and it will make your problem i.e (circle of concern) very small or may be negligible.

But if you start thinking more and more about problem itself your Circle of Concern will start growing and it might become so big that your may find no solution to the problem , or even if some solution to problem but some other bigger problems.

I hope you could understand the same............ do write your comments for any problems or clarification needed.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

HR is Cost or Investment ?

From Rediff :Only 30% of industry plans to hire: Survey

Even as most analysts are saying the worst of the economic downturn is over, a survey by the PHD Chamber of Commerce reveals only 30 per cent of the respondents plan to increase their hiring activity.
The survey had 186 responses from various companies.
The positive feature from the survey is that the demand for both mid and entry-level recruitments has risen, as compared to the situation six months earlier, indicating that companies across various segments plan to expand operations in the near future.
Respondents were optimistic that the global economy will gather steam in the coming months, leading to an increase in orders from the US and the EU and so, more job opportunities.
The reasons for low or no hiring by 70 per cent of the respondents are varied.
Some said they did not lay off many people during the downturn and hence they were not contemplating hiring in large numbers.
Another reason cited was a wait for the economy to return to a high-growth trajectory experienced during the pre-downturn period.
"There is a need for effective skill development measures on a priority basis to equip the workforce with the requisite expertise which is in tune with industry requirements.
"There is also need to undertake reforms in the education sector to ensure that workers are provided appropriate skill sets," said Satish Bagrodia, president of the chamber.

RECRUITMENT DELAY BY TOP MNC CORPORATE GIANTS.

I would like to share some thing about recruitment procedures conducted by corporate companies.

Various companies come up with an urgent openings with dead line dates but the positions are not closed even after 3 to 5 months time.

Many time these positions are hanged due to top hiring managers and some time due to the less extra efforts or delay by HR department. Applicants keep on following after their application

Due to these kind of delay ,the applicant does not remain interested or may have number of apprehension about the company . Which results into a waste of the entire efforts of the people who get involved in sourcing these profiles and procedural activity .
After a long delay/break when again the opening gets on and HR - Talent Acquisition team starts the procedure to fill the vacancies , they have to go for a fresh start.

Very rare it happens that the applied candidates remain interested for the said position after a long gap. And these people can create a negative image about the company in the market.

We as a recruitment team request and suggest these MNC Corporate Giant to take care of this issue for a better , smooth and fast process .

Please suggest if you feel some thing more to be added to these points or you feel any think is irrelevant can be discussed.

THANKS & REGARDS ,

ARVIND DUBEY.

CAFE-AT-SRC: Is HR Heart of an organisation

CAFE-AT-SRC: Is HR Heart of an organisation

Is HR Heart of an organisation

“Human Resource Management is the Heart of an Organization”

When we talk about Human resource management it includes many functions and sub functions like HR strategies , Recruitment & Selection, performance appraisals, compensation and benefits, Organisation Development etc.

Now what is HR strategies ???

HR strategies is compilation of various tools or activities used to Attract, develop, retain the best talent in the industry

Recruitment & Selection : It sounds simple but it does not only include procedure of simple screening , shortlisting the prospect employee but it also includes a rigorous scientific tools used while making selection of prospective employee

Performance Appraisals , Compensation & Benefits, again plays a pivotal role in attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry

Organisation Development : Organisation development consists of various intangible elements like work culture , work environment .

Again its plays a very essential role in building a morale of an organization as a whole. Its cannot be acquired in a day or two or even months. It is gradually built over span of time.

So all these elements together play a important role in HR Management

If we analyse any successful organization we get to know that its due to its successful HR strategies formulation and gradually implementation that contributes to its success

Eg , Cisco system has been practicing one of the best HR strategies

Likewise we have Infosys , Accenture and many more.

The elements of HR has touched every field , every organization , including NGOs etc

So friends can we conclude HR is the Heart of an organization. Without which its impossible to grow in an industry ???????????????????????????????

Please feel free to share any case study or event which reflects the importance of HRM and how its play a motivating role in carrying out other work in an organisation

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU ?

Hi Friends ,

One of the most important ingredients of a successful career & life is the motivation , It is not possible to do any thing , any thing means literally any thing without motivation. Its very difficult to define or describe what is motivation , any event , story , personality, person, animal or anything can motivate you to do any act.

A persons misbehavior may motivate other to slap him ?

So motivation is embedded in our day to day life and may differ from person to person. Some times we need motivation and some times we automatically get motivated.

Most of the time people take help of successful people to motivate them self. that's the most commonly used motivation tool i believe.

Let me think what motivates me ? I believe this is one of the most difficult question ?

Let me think......

i believe there are many things that motivates me , let us list them down. I GET MOTIVATED WHEN I ...

> am ignored by any body or some group of people who know me very well.
> remember my past events where in i have done something and was appreciated by people.
> remember the major landmark events of my life.
> when i see the pix of some people like Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Mittal, Hritik Roshan, Amitabh Bacchan may be few more..
> attend a networking seminar
> see people unnecessarily dominating me
> Travel alone
> See some really good movies like Jo Jita wohi sikander, Ek doctor ki maut, ek Ruka hua faisala etc..
> When i listen good old songs ,gazals
> When i read some really good motivational quotes  "Arise , Awake and stop not till the goal is reached" i believe you know who has said this.
> Some real inspirational poems like " Koshish karne walo ki........."

i think this will become too long to read for you if i continue this way,

any ways just a simple thing to know , when and how my friends and colleagues feel motivated ........ let us know and share

Authoritarianism

Dear Friends,

On a daily basis we interact with so many people in our Professional world and many a times we do distinguish a person the way he / she reacts, behaves towards the people in different Hierarchy level. An individual behaves as per his / her personality attribute, one such personality attribute is Authoritarianism.

“Authoritarianism is the extent to which an individual believes that Power & Status differences are appropriate within same level in an organization”. For example, a person who is highly authoritarian may accept directions or orders from someone with more authority just because the other person is Boss.
A person who is not highly authoritarian may still carry out appropriate, reasonable & right directions from the boss, but he / she may question things, express disagreements with the boss.
By nature authoritarians are autocratic, demanding and does not involve subordinates in decision making whereas less authoritarians are democratic in nature.

After reading this I hope you all must be analyzing others and your own personality trait.

Proactive Thinking

Friends,

While having discussion within ourselves, we always talk about proactive thinking!

And the first think which we get in mind is to think ahead of an event or a situation.

But the sad part always remains is that through out the time we remain absent fro thinking itself..

In a regular day-to-day activity we are so engroshed in collecting the activity, sorting the hicups in the process and talking with ourselves mentally for things we're doing right, the others are doing wrong, it shoudl happen this way or that way..

We at the end make our habbit to fight ourselves mentally for all the issues and are not left with time for any thinking let away PROACTIVE THINKING..

PROACTIVE THINKING AS WE DISUSSED AND UNDERSTOOD IS A PROCESS OF

~ ANTICPATING A FAVORABLE OR AN UNFAVORABLE EVENT AFFECTING OURSELVES~

~TO DEVISE A PLAN TO MAKE THE MAXIMUM USE OF THE SAME OR TO LOW\ER THE LOSS ~

let's we all discus the process of proactive thinking by giving some thoughts to it :) ..

Lets all interested in the process put down the process they have initiated in their daily routine and try to make a proactive thinking in our daily lifes..

Actuals experience is what i'm looking for so as to test oneself rather than an ideal to-do list..

lets enjoy proactive thinking..

DECISION MAKING

Decisions are an important part of our professions. From the lowest to the top most level of management, the decision making plays an important role. Decisions in an organization can vary between the normal to critical decisions. Toughest of these are the Critical Decisions because anything wrong with the desired result will put all the blame of the decision maker's shoulders.
So, How to go about Decision making. How to choose between several options and how to react on a decision that went wrong.
Critical Decisions are surrounded by doubts and worries. It requires a brave decision maker to go ahead with his decision and carry responsibility of it throughout the execution of that decision.
A person competent to handle critical task of decision making is always welcome in organizations. He possess confidence and find comfort in dealing with challenges. He can be wrong at times, yet, he has that ability to take calculated risks.

Why Decision Making is Tough:
- Critical Decisions are irreversible, and thats why they are called 'critical'. Once a decision is taken, you are bound to be either praised or blamed.
- Critical Decisions bring all the attention towards the Decision Maker. In case his decision goes wrong, he will have to face the embarrassment.
- Critical Decisions may make or break one's reputation in an Organization. This feeling puts pressure on the decision maker cause mental fatigue and discomfort.

Decision Making can be Really Easy with Following Steps:
- Be Prepared for the Best and the Worst. Understand that its a gamble, but has to be made with most positive intentions.
- Poses the Right Attitude. Put your calculations and go for the one. Most of the times, the things done with right attitude prove successful.
- You can't afford to be defensive about decisions that turn out to be wrong. When you are wrong, and you will be from time to time, admit it and go on.
- Don't prolong the process of Decision Making. Delays will cause more Delays. Not taking decision in time may damage your reputation more than failing at a decision.
- Put your knowledge and experience, and you may try consulting your close ones, but act on your own responsibility.
- Try Breaking the decisions that are too complex in nature. Step by step, things become more easy to handle.
- Prioritize the decisions. Understand the chronological order of the implementation of decisions and act accordingly.
- Don't base apply the same technique or logic on two different decisions. This formula work only by chance. Go with your own intuition about the situation.

A Peice Of My Thought...!

Hello Everyone,

In Situations which we cant handle we always end up saying " Life Is Though...!"

...
Freinds i am not some1 different amongst the crowd who usually end up saying the above line.but i never understand & never got the answer of the question which is below...

How can we say life i though ? I would just ask a simple question to every 1 "compare to what ?"

Has any1 visited heaven or hell or some thing comparable to life.Life in itself has its different taste - The bitter we hate! The better we like , why such discrimination ?
Guys just think for a while have you ever said such thing ...? Did you get any chance to compare with something...

I would like to read your views relating to the same...

Thank You,
Rohan kanodia

Big Boss vs. Life

Guys,

Just thought what could be the similarity between big boss and life....thought to note down a few..
1. everyone nows that they are here for a short period of time..
2. the benefits they are going to draw will not last for their rest of the life..
3.the people for whom they are fighting for or bitching or trying to fool around are not related to them for ever..
4. they all will go there ways one after the other which no body knows..
5.the things they fight for say food, toffeies, budget, seems so worthless after a point of time..
6.the people who matters to them most i.e their familes and loved ones are the one whom they ocassinaly remembers when they are in blues or when all of them get free from bitching each other..
7.They all know that someone from outside is watching them( as GOD to us) but after a point of thime that hardly matters to them...

hey don't you think that the same is going in our life..fighting each day, doing not all but many wrong things, knowing gods but hardly remembering him..not literally..but normally we forget..

don't you think we all should not do these things and live a better life, care for each other, respect each other and on n on n on...

but mere dost kya big boss ke ghar mein aisha ho sakta hai..

Who cares :)

see you in front of the dumb set @ 9 to watch the next episode of the big boss...

Gossip, Information,Eureka's,Thoughts etc......
