Is HR Heart of an organisation

“Human Resource Management is the Heart of an Organization”


When we talk about Human resource management it includes many functions and sub functions like HR strategies , Recruitment & Selection, performance appraisals, compensation and benefits, Organisation Development etc.

Now what is HR strategies ???

HR strategies is compilation of various tools or activities used to Attract, develop, retain the best talent in the industry

Recruitment & Selection : It sounds simple but it does not only include procedure of simple screening , shortlisting the prospect employee but it also includes a rigorous scientific tools used while making selection of prospective employee

Performance Appraisals , Compensation & Benefits, again plays a pivotal role in attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry

Organisation Development : Organisation development consists of various intangible elements like work culture , work environment .

Again its plays a very essential role in building a morale of an organization as a whole. Its cannot be acquired in a day or two or even months. It is gradually built over span of time.

So all these elements together play a important role in HR Management

If we analyse any successful organization we get to know that its due to its successful HR strategies formulation and gradually implementation that contributes to its success

Eg , Cisco system has been practicing one of the best HR strategies

Likewise we have Infosys , Accenture and many more.

The elements of HR has touched every field , every organization , including NGOs etc

So friends can we conclude HR is the Heart of an organization. Without which its impossible to grow in an industry ???????????????????????????????

    HR is heart of a organisation ????? i dont think ? let me analyse this in other way and compare the features of heart with HR.

    I believe Heart is the first thing that gives life in body. without heart life is not possible. but in business the real life is marketing and business development without which the business or organisation does't come into existance.

    the other way is that all activities be it HR, Marketing , Finance , Operations are interdependent because after a level organisation can not run without any of these. may be one is heart , other one is blood etc.....

  2. Hello everyone!

    Globally every one has recognized that it is the people who are responsible to make a successful company. Every successful leader has recognized that behind there success it has been there hardworking team which has made this happen.


    As per my reading HR department has been recognised as an important department in India especially. The sear volume of work which has been handled by the HR department especially in the Service Sector like BPO's, IT sector etc.. has helped it to get the required recognitions into the company's in India.

    As per my reading, a company can be compared to an Human body which is made up commonly seen as hands, eyes, ears legs and other important discussed things like heart, brain etc..

    If we analyse all these elements are equally important in their own way and they help us in their own way on day to day basis.

    If we ignore any of them on routine basis, we might not feel the immediate impact but the cost for it has to be paid.

    Considering in the same way, we always feel that each of our department should function efficiently be it even Admin dept.. Which provides support to us on regular basis.

    To Sum up, be it heart or brain, eyes or hand, Admin or Hr, Operation or Finance, a healthy part is all we should look forward which will he helpful for optimum utilization of opportunities and a successful journey coming forward....

  3. I Agree with Rakesh & Dilip, HR is a function of an organization so it can be treated as an important ingredient for a successful company. Even Marketing and business development is also not a heart according to me but again a part of function which keeps heart functioning.

    Heart is not only a function but also a part of body which keeps all other parts working in a manner that it keeps beating. If you compare body with a company, According to me Company’s Goal or Company’s Mission or promoters idea is a heart, to achieve the same all the parts of the body acts or reacts. So if something is targeted by any founder he organize all the function in a manner that his goal is achieved. Goal always changes once these achieved but if there is no goal in a company all the best departments of the company will be of no use and even if they function, one day all will become sick and closes down one by one. Just like our heart if it becomes weak and weak then even if all the part of the body are working if is of no use.

    Here I will give a example of Heart Attack, we always hear that some young guy is died of hear attack one fine day, but yesterday he was quite fine and every part of his body was working well, even then he get died of sudden attack. In this case all the parts were working properly but since heart is not working all the parts are of no use but,,,,,

    If we take example of any permanent disability even people are surviving and we hear that even though he is blind but still working hard, that means he has something to do in his life for which even if one part of the body is not working but still surviving, some of the example which I knew are
