Friends the term itself is self explaining where, two partners in relationship are pursuing careers. It’s the need of an hour for both the partners to earn for surviving factor and better future prospects.
Entry of more and more woman’s in work place has raised this concept in various organizations. Life is not so easy and pleasant as it seems initially to both of them. For example both partners working face problems of coordinating like buying household things, planning vacations, who will stay at home with sick child and what, will happen if one partner is transferred to another city.
But now day’s many organizations are becoming sensitive to the needs and problems faced by Dual-Career couples. General Motor’s provide counseling and referral services for spouse of a transferred employee. IBM provides childcare assistance and provides all employees with up to a year of unpaid leave for childcare at home and delayed transfers. Merck provides childcare, flexible working hours, work-at-home options to Dual-Career couples.
Still all organizations wont be able provide them Work Life Programs to their employees for various other reasons.

With your topic of Dual career couple I would like to bring it to your notice about the work we do for our clients.
ReplyDeleteThere are many profiles we work on where we source people from different locations of the country. Candidates have to relocate if they get selected and join the company . In that case if both the couple are working the question arises what if one get the job and other don’t. To relocate to new place both of them has to leave their present job. So in such situation even for the company it becomes difficult to promise job for both the couple .
We have faced this problem many time . If we call any professional candidate we find that their spouse is also working some where or he / she may be a professional too and theY demand job for them too. So in such situation it becomes very difficult for us and the company too to promise any job for them.
In a joint family it is somehow a couple can manage if they have a child other wise if they live separate they have to leave their child either to some play group or keep some care taker and they are not able to pay proper attention on their kid. In such situation any one have to leave the job in many cases for the sake of the kid.
So for a couple working together is very a very difficult task to mange.
