SELF HEALING


Whenever we are discouraged, disappointed, we always get the suggestion from our friends, colleagues that don’t seek motivation from outside, learn to motivate yourself. I truly believe in this we should not wait for someone to motivate ourselves, but how to motivate?? What should I do to motivate my self????



If one says that it is possible to change ones behavior pattern in a constructive manner, it does not automatically reflect how to change that. As for myself, I especially enjoy the articles on psyche. I got the answers for my question from one of the article written by Dr JITENDRA SINGH RAI. I would like to share some of the important points with you.


1) PRACTICE THOUGHT CONTROL: When you catch yourself starting a thought that will produce a stressful emotion like worry, anxiety, fear, apprehension, discouragement or the like, stop it & substitute thinking that brings on a healthy emotion like equanimity, resignation, courage, determination & cheerfulness.


2) Run these flags up on your “master head” & keep them flying:

· Equanimity – “Lets stay calm”

· Resignation – “Lets accept this setback gracefully”

· Courage – “I can take all these & more”

· Determination – “I’ll Turn This Defeat Into Victory”

· Cheerfulness – “See, I’m coming up”

· Pleasantness – “I’ll still have goodwill towards people “


3) Carry the key idea every minute of the day – “I am going to keep my attitude & thinking calm & cheerful – RIGHT NOW.


4) When the going is good, tell yourself life is good & allow your self the delightful feeling of being happy.


5) When the going is rough stay outwardly as cheerful & as pleasant as you possibly can. Lighten an awkward situation with a bit of humor, with kindness, or a bit of smile.

6) TRY TO TURN EVERY DEFEAT INTO A MORAL VICTORY.



The aforesaid ideas can help to bring about emotional status & maturity. I believe ENHANCING ONES EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAN THE INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT.



Once one learns the art of walking along eyes calm with equanimity, head up with determination, chest out with courage, and a pleasant word for fellow travelers & resignation on meeting rough rocky roads, LIFE WILL BECOME A FASCINATING ENTERPRISE.



It does not merely say that change is possible, but has consistently shown how change may be achieved. I know we feel very motivated after reading such type of articles, but again once we are surrounded by the tensed situation, we forget everything & find no ways to come out of that situation. That is why we need to remember these things again & again.

  1. A very intersting article on self improvement. Worth implementing in our daily. All the points are very inspiring and tell us how to motivate ourself in the most disappointing situation ESPECIALLY 6th TRY TO TURN EVERY DEFEAT INTO A MORAL VICTORY. For eg A student fails or secures less marks as desired in an examination due to some personal problems or ill health. Can atleast tell himself that he has made an attempt to appear for the examination. can be implementated with a positive mind set........

  2. Very nice article Vidya on Self Motivation....

    You cannot prevent the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from nesting in your hair.

    I feel it’s very true that motivation remains for very short span, as we find our self again de-motivated, depressed whenever we are surrounded by any such situations in our life where we have no idea how to deal with them.

    Another thing I would like to share is one should stop Regretting and should move ahead in life :)

    Let me Describe self motivation in four Techniques which I have in my mind

    • Set a Achievable target for the amount of work you will do each day
    • Visualize the desired outcome: Create a picture of what the desired outcome will look like, and have this vision before you
    • Set milestones of the things you like to do and are proficient in
    • Use visual indicators to monitor Your progress and complete the task
    The Power of Motivation
    For E.g. A manager who knows how to energize his Subordinates and maintain their enthusiasm, the art of motivating is one of his or her success secrets. If you understand what motivates people, you have at your command the most powerful tool for dealing with them to get them achieve extraordinary results.

I think self improvement can be develop by our self only because we are the one who is get disappointment, when we discuss the things with our friends or family member or reading some motivation articles getting number of ideas, clues etc but for the time being we get motivation but again after some time when no one is near by us so we start think about it. Always should have some rules (funds) in our life that is what happen with us we should not take always the negative things with us, leave the things behind & look at your present & future.

    A good example in Chak De India movie, how Shahrukh Khan got demotivated when India lose the hockey match game with Pakistan all were blaming shahrukh khan that the match was fixed by him but this was wrong he had to prove himself, he came with positive approach & forgot all the thing happened with him & become a Coach of girls hockey team & proved himself by making the girls hockey team world champion

    Life is like a game of chess involving moves & counter moves.
    But,finally the winner is the one who moves forword.
    Work hard and do well.

    Nice thoughts by everybody on self motivation , Even i feel that self motivation is an essential in everybody , it can take you to a long path.
    We need self motivation at each stage of life because we know our each act, idea, thought or views will not be liked by everybody. There will alwasy be people who will criticise us , but you need to keep yourself up by self motivation. So you are not left with any option but to be self motivating.
    Many people need motivation from other but even after this they have to get self motivated and get back to work.
    dont have much to say i like two lines of gazal by jagjit singh , When Jagjit singh and chitra singh lost their young son vivek at a very early age both of them were very much depressed , He read the shyari by Nida Fazli which was " Apne gam leke kahi aur na jaya jaye, Ghar me bikhree hui chezoo ko sajaya jaye" and took charge of himself and got back to the work.So just forget what has happned and restart the work because is life never stops at any thing.

  6. I think, all we need to do is to REMOVE OBSTACLES from our mind. This can be accomplished with or without the help of others.

    When ever we get upset or depressed, we have to avoid all negative thoughts from my mind and try to think positive point .I think, do what ever u want to do to come out from our situation and relax like take healthy advice from good people, play games etc I listen to soothing music which helps me to come out from bad situation after getting relaxed I get a solution

    We have to motivate our self. After all, ups and down are the part and parcel of our life.

    So this is my way of self healing…

  7. Many times we have assets (talent) we don't even know we possess.

    Often the difference between one who is successful and one who is not is simply recognition of those assets.

    One asset we all have is the ability to change our perspective. Changing your perspective goes a long way to improving your motivation. In fact, it is all you need to give yourself a jolt and spring into action.

    In order to change your perspective, use your zeal, your intellect, your emotions, your memory, your knowledge and your environment.

    These are the tools to gain MORAL VICTORY as rightly said in point No. 6..

    If I have to give a self motivated example. What better than the birds who rebuild their Nest when their nest is devastated N number of times coz of natural calamities n deforestation…what do they do ?? The very next moment they r on a MISSION to built another one…this is how LIFE moves on….SELF MOTIVATION is the Key to success which is not possible without adequate ACTION.

  8. When things don’t work in ur favour we get demotivated sometimes. Ur mind just stops working, due to depression. That’s the way we come across word self motivation.

    One of the most courageous things you can do is identify yourself, know who you are, what you believe in and where you want to go.

    For example:
    For every person who doubts you, tells you will fail, try twice as hard to prove them wrong.
    Above all, challenge yourself. You may well surprise yourself at what strengths you have, what you can accomplish.

  9. "When you learn to succeed at mini goals, you will be motivated to challenge grand goals.

    I believe "Our minds can be our best friend, they can also be our worst enemies". For much of my life i realized my thoughts were beyond my control, they just enter into my mind and do what our they wished to do. PRACTICING THOUGHT CONTROL can give us a better perspective towards life and help us be clear towards our goal.

    I would like to share one more point that i strongly believe is true:

    Socialize with others of similar interest. Mutual support is motivating. We will develop the attitudes of our five best friends. If they are losers, we will be a loser. If they are winners, we will be a winner. To be a cowboy we must associate with cowboys.

  10. Friends why we require motivation or self healing, has anybody had a thought on this in his day to day life. Of course I have read many of the factors above which de-motivates us. Even some time even I get depressed when situations are not on my favor or when I don’t get desired results. Recently we have attended one business conference TIE Summit 2009. Many entrepreneurs came and explain the management techniques etc. But one thing which I really liked is Mr. Kishore Biyani reply on one question. Somebody has asked him that “Sir don’t you get afraid of so many failure in your life”. He has answered this in one sentence that IF YOU REALLY WANT TO OVERCOME FAILURE DONOT GET NEGATIVE THINKING AROUND YOU OR WHENEVER YOU COME ACROSS SUCH NEGAVTIVE ENVIORONMENT OR PEOPLE WHO TALKS NEGATIVE GET YOURSELF OUT OF THAT CONVERSATION OR ENVIORMENT. This particular thing if people really start practicing in their day to day life, many a times they will not come across negative situations.

    I am not saying that you will never get depressed or de-motivated or may be there are situation where it is not possible to come out so immediately but still some time it can be avoided if concerns are really not so important by applying above formula.

  11. A very important topic is bought to notice for discussion about self healing by Vidya which is mandatory for every living entity on this earth.

    6th point mentioned by Dr. Rai is very important for being a successful person.

    It is very difficulty for a human nature to be calm in a unpleasant situation, People tend to loose their temper and mental balance in such situation , which becomes difficult for them to take some correct decision in life and come out of that bad or demoralized situation . At that time we need and look for some one who can take us out of that condition .

    We are discussing here about self motivation but self motivation is not a easy task., very few people are born with this special ability and few generate it by looking others .

    Self healing or self analyzing is an important aspect of life , but maximum time it comes from others . Many schools and colleges have started taking care about this aspect as an necessary task and have taken steps to make people self motivated. The best way to create self healing is meditation.

    Not only schools but now a days lot of MNCs and corporate giants have taken this step of meditation for self healing in their employees.

    More than 90% of MBA colleges have made meditation mandatory for their students to become self confidence and take right decision in life and move out of the bad situation which may occur during their professional or personal life.

    People who are in depression and do not have an ability to motivate themselves or don’t get motivated by others to get out the unwanted situation they take help of medicines which results in bad health and they become useless coz of headache and various types of problems , in that situation this spiritual path help one to get self healing .

    So there are very few who are born Motivated but many who need to be self motivated by being on right path and correct direction. In such case one get a lot of help by meditation to become self motivated and motivate others.

    There are many thing which can be written , said and explained on this very important part of life , lets plan and have a 1 hour discussion on this topic this month as per every ones conveniences including our top bosses .
